Alan Mann studied classical piano as a child, playing piano and singing songs from musicals with his mother. He remembers that one Christmas his Aunt and Uncle bought him a huge box of second hand Juke Box records. He thought this to be an unusual gift but these records introduced him to lots of different music and he played them for many years.

At 15 he bought his first Roland electronic piano and started entertaining at the age of 17 when he joined his first pop covers band. Alan was entertaining in the Social Clubs and Miners Welfares in and around Yorkshire and Derbyshire. Living in Yorkshire became difficult so he re-located to Suffolk in the mid-eighties where after ten years working as an engineer he became a training instructor in the engineering sector.

There he continued with his musical pastime playing piano with various bands entertaining at weddings and celebrations as well as working with a popular sixties band at theaters throughout East Anglia.

In 2017, Alan Mann took an opportunity for early retirement and began singing as a solo artist entertaining in the Care Home settings.

Here, Alan found that his musical talents were very much appreciated along with his easy-going friendly personality. Visiting the residential homes and spending time with residents and staff has given him a new direction in life, which he hopes to continue with for many years to come.

During the pandemic Alan has continued to provide his entertainment by maintaining contact with his regular homes and by producing a number of CD’s and DVD’s to freely share. More recently, Alan was able to go live again using Zoom.

Alan performs variety of music from many genres with the aim of provided musical memories for everyone, encouraging his audience to join him in singing their favorite songs.

Alan is married with four children ( three girls and one boy ) and also two grandsons.
