Sachi Dely – Popular Teaching Artist for North Carolina Creative Aging Network

Sachi Dely is an Indigenous Asian American artist based in Greensboro, North Carolina. Sachi was born in Dak Mil Province in Southern Vietnam on October 12, 1998. Vietnam is home to over 30 Indigenous tribes, Sachi is from the Bunong tribe. At the age of two, she and her parents fled Vietnam due to religious persecution and other human rights violations against Indigenous people. She and her parents spent a year and a half at two separate refugee camps in Cambodia before immigrating to the United States as refugees in 2002.

In May of 2020, Sachi obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Art with a focus in painting and a double minor in East Asian Studies and Business Administration at Guilford College. Currently, she works as a teaching artist for the NC Aging Network while pursuing her own career in Art, Acting, Writing, and Directing.
